Gustavo Koberstein

Gustavo Koberstein, born in Brasilia, DF, graduated with a B.A. in Bassoon in 1996 at the University of Brasília where he studied with Hary Schweizer; he also received training in composition and conducting. As a student he had a strong presence in Festivals and Music workshops. More recently, as professor, he has had contact with important figures in the bassoon, composition and conducting areas. He has participated in various chamber music projects and was professor of the School of Music of Brasília and substitute professor at the University of Goiás. As conductor he was assistant for the Symphonic Community Choir of the UnB, assistant-conductor for the Youth Orchestra of Brasília. He was first bassoonist for the UnB Orchestra, the Goiás Philharmonic, the Paraná Symphony and the Brazilian Chamber Orchestra in Curitiba. He is currently bassoonist for the Symphonic Orchestra of the Cláudio Santoro National Theater.
